Sitting.

Look I've revived this blog to belatedly inform a swatch of pet owners about their critters' well-being.

Dramatis personae:

Dolly - Diabetic tabby with enormous eyes and a wide butt. Always seems to be hanging out at the top of the stairs when I show up. Likes to sit under the desk and isn't afraid to get a little chatty when she's bored, which might be a lot lately. Takes insulin like a champ but can't jump very well (presumably because of the butt girth).

Simone (aka Simone de Beauvoir, Simonbers) - Dolly's grey longhaired roommate. Possessor of an endlessly grave countenance. Why so glum, Simonbers? She seems happiest on the bed pillow, but she's willing to hang out on top of the couch, provided she can flatten herself into sausage shape.

Winston (aka Winebago) - Longhaired orange boss of Montreal street. A boss for all temperatures and levels of precipitation still bearing the summer's burrs in the recesses of his armpit fur. Winston is curious enough about his new roommates, but not so curious that he's willing to withstand more than a few bats in the face. He's allowed outside, chumps.

Abigail (aka Blabbigail) - Ashen white/grey/orange snobby princess of Montreal street. Just doesn't want any of her roommates anywhere near her. Hisses, growls, and swats to keep everyone away. She's good with people, thankfully. Abby has staked out the second floor bathroom counter and probably spends twenty hours a day there. Doesn't seem to be eating much. Prone to small chats when I'm brushing my teeth.

Oscar - White and orange long nosed full time bro of Montreal street. Always wants to be bro-ing and demands it by encroaching on snacks and books. Only gets defensive when Winston tries to intrude upon the bro time. Absolute chattiest of the whole bunch but also a good listener.

Pema (aka Peemers, Peembs) - Longhaired grey/black curly-tailed boss of Redan. On a strict diet, which probably makes him chattier than he'd normally be. Fond of his old pal Copper the dog, not really into my (admittedly bogus) piano playing. Can roll backyard style or Redan street sidewalk style. Getting into the stairs a little bit this weekend. Kind of like Simone except more prone to party.

Copper (aka Copper Penny) - Geriatric longhaired blonde retriever-type mutt. Poops inside, no big deal. Liked the ice in the park until it melted. Extremely stoked on exiting the house and re-entering minutes later. Doesn't sweat the medicine, and glad to smile if the poop's all cleaned up. Hearing's not so good. Only two barks in six days!

Guest starring:

Monkey - Smooth grey highrise dweller. Pointy nose even better for peering out at Kingston from the 12th floor of Princess Towers. Not really feeling the dry food, but fully stoked on the wet food. Prefers the shell dish to the plain one.


I couldn't find a camera to borrow, but these guys are all very very good-looking.
